Our expert witness services cover a wide range of expertise. We make sure to pace our testimony usage so as not to appear as a hired gun but a valuable and trusted expert source. We’ve saved companies millions of dollars by offering expert testimony, protecting their patents and offering patent research.
Acterna v. Sunrise Telecom & Consultronics 2005, disclosed, for defendant, settled
Provided expert opinions, claim interpretations, examined means structures, for a case involving a portable test instrument. Worked with attorney Mike Heafey of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.
FTI Consulting 1999, settled
Provided expert opinions as an undisclosed expert witness to an OEM of industrial PC’s. This matter involved fitness for merchantability
Kettelson Law Offices 1997, settled
Analyzed 24-bit interactive color PC games for improvements and possible patent infringement. Added some graphical animation to the source code and evaluated performance.
Inwood International v. Wal-Mart 1998, disclosed, for plaintiff, settled
Provided expert opinions and claim charts for a case involving a computer game patent infringement. Worked with attorney Earnest Kettelson of Kettelson Law Offices.
Zenith Data Systems v. Compaq 1996-7, undisclosed, for plaintiff, settled
Provided expert opinions on a case involving computer parallel port patent infringement. Created parallel port hardware and software to prove infringement. Worked with attorney Jim Sprowl of Fitch Even Tabin & Flannery, now at Foley & Lardner. Also worked with Jim Yoon of Wilson Sonsini.
M.T. McBrian v. Liebert 1995-8, disclosed, for plaintiff, settled
Provided expert opinions on a case involving HVAC controls. Analyzed hardware and software. Worked with Bob Queeney of McBride, Baker & Coles, Tony DiVencenzo of Campbell & DiVencenzo, against Bob McAughan and David Owen of AWD.
Zenith Data Systems 1995, undisclosed, for defendant, settled
Provided expert opinions on a case involving computer patent infringement. Worked with attorney Jim Sprowl of Fitch Even Tabin & Flannery.
Square D 1992, undisclosed, for defendant, settled
Provided the expert opinion to patent holder on an infringement claim. Worked with attorney Bob Crawford of AWD.
Laser Computer 1983, undisclosed, for defendant, settled
Provided expert opinion to Laser Computer in Lake Zurich regarding their brand of Apple Computer clones. Worked with attorney Jim Sprowl of Fitch Even Tabin & Flannery.
Jupiter Computer 1980, disclosed, for plaintiff, bench trial
Rendered expert opinions in court about heat build-up in Ohio Scientific Computers.
Some of my designs have been patented. On several occasions I have gone to the main Patent Office in Washington DC to perform patent searches, and to review the current state of the art in several fields. I have become familiar and comfortable with the language used to make Patent Claims.
